SUCCESS ACADEMY CHARTER SCHOOLS RANK #1 IN MATH ACCORDING TO 2023 NYS TEST SCORE RESULTS

The charter network grabbed top spot among K–12 NYS schools systems with 95% or more test participation.

New York, NY, January, 18, 2024 — The results are finally in. According to newly released and analyzed 2023 New York state test score data, Success Academy ranked #1 in the state in Math test scores. In addition to being first in Math, the charter network ranked #3 in English Language Arts among districts with test participation rates of 95% or more. With opt-out rates of 50% or more at many schools, the rankings reflect districts with the most rigor.

“At a time when school districts across the country are lowering standards, inflating grades, and limiting opportunities, we’re raising the bar and increasing access,” said Eva Moskowitz, Founder and CEO of Success Academy. “In today’s world, math is the great equalizer — and we set our students up for success by hiring teachers who are enthusiastic about the subject matter they teach. Our achievements demonstrate that all children can thrive when they have access to excellent schools and teachers who support them.”

In addition to overall performance  — and at a time when racial disparities in achievement continue to persist across city and state — no other large school district in the state came close to Success Academy’s scores among Black and Hispanic students.
